Sudan has been ravaged by civil war and conflict since April 2023, resulting in over 20,000 civilian deaths, displacing more than 10 million people, and leaving over 25 million in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, making it one of the world's largest hunger crises, according to the United Nations.
Türkiye, coordinated by the Turkish AFAD and supported by the Turkish Red Crescent and various NGOs across the country, is actively responding to this urgent humanitarian need, rushing large-scale emergency relief to Sudan, where access to basic necessities is severely restricted. In this context, as Hayrat Aid, along with other NGOs, we are proud to be part of this worthy effort, joining forces with the Turkish Red Crescent to dispatch a ship laden with much-needed essential supplies. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have already loaded 25 tons of flour onto the ship, which will soon be delivered to those in need in Sudan. Once preparations are complete, a new ship will set sail for Port Sudan on the Red Sea, carrying humanitarian aid including food, hygiene products and basic necessities.
The Kindness Ship will deliver vital aid to the people of Sudan, providing much-needed relief and support during these challenging times.
