The Holy Quran

Challenges in Accessing the Quran in Asia and Africa

In the early 20th century, approximately 30 million Christians lived in Asia and Africa. Today, that number has surged to 700 million—a dramatic increase largely driven by Western missionary campaigns across these regions.

Following the decline of Ottoman influence, Western powers intensified their colonial and missionary efforts, systematically stripping Muslim communities of material resources. So much so that they even sought to block access to the Holy Quran itself. The imposition of foreign languages in governance and education has further alienated Muslims from their faith in these regions. In some mosques and villages, the harsh reality is that finding even a single copy of the Quran is nearly impossible. Students memorizing the Quran often resort to writing verses on wooden tablets ("Lawh") due to the scarcity of copies.

What We Do?

At Hayrat Aid, we recognize that spiritual needs are as vital as material ones. Through our "The World Reads the Quran" project, we provide access to the Holy Quran, so far delivering 1.4 million copies across 49 countries with your incredible support.
