Surviving in the Shadow of War

After 13 years overshadowed by war, millions of people in Syria still struggle with homelessness, insecurity, and harsh living conditions. Cities where they once lived in peace are now reduced to rubble. Families trying to survive in tent camps, between collapsed walls, or in makeshift shelters are deprived of even the most basic needs. For women and children, the challenges are even greater. Recently, thousands of Syrians who have been displaced for years have expressed their desire to return to their home, but they cannot do so due to the housing crisis.

Building the Future with Permanent Housing

To ensure that returning families have safe and livable homes, we are constructing permanent homes through the "Homes of Compassion" initiative, helping rebuild lives shattered by war. We have thus far completed 5,550 permanent homes, bringing hope to thousands. Yet, this is only the beginning of a significant transformation. Although the war has ended, it has left massive devastation in its wake. Experts estimate that more than $400 billion is needed to rebuild Syria. To help people return to their homes and live safely, we need to construct more permanent homes.
