Serving mosques holds immense virtue and reward, as it ensures the continuation of worship and knowledge. The merit of building a mosque is eloquently described in the Holy Qur'an:

"The mosques of Allah are to be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and establish prayer, and give zakat, and fear not except Allah, for such are expected to be of the [rightly] guided." [Qur'an, 9:18]

The Prophet (ﷺ) further elucidated the virtue of building mosques: "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise." [Bukhari]

This promised reward includes any service rendered to mosques, big or small. Even the Prophet (ﷺ) contributed to the cleaning of the Al-Masjid An-Nabawi in Medina: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would clean the dust of the mosque with a palm branch." [Ibn Abi Shayba, al-Musannaf]
