The United Nations reports that the new escalation, which began in March 2026, has further exacerbated access to health, shelter, water, and other basic services.
According to UNHCR data, as of September 17, 2026, 341,228 new individuals have been displaced within Lebanon. Families forced to leave their homes due to Israeli attacks and insecurity continue to need support for food, shelter, hygiene, and other basic necessities.

Israeli Attacks Increase Humanitarian Needs in Lebanon
The 2026 attacks not only caused displacement but also damage to homes and critical infrastructure, disruption of health and education services, and a reduction in livelihood opportunities. The United Nations plans to provide priority humanitarian and stabilization support to 732,125 people between September and December 2026.
The impact of the attacks, especially in southern Lebanon, continues to affect civilians. The United Nations reported in September 2026 that Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon caused civilian casualties, increased pressure on health services, and led to people being displaced from their homes again.
