Afghanistan Nuristan Flood Disaster: Emergency Aid Appeal
The flood disaster in Nuristan province, eastern Afghanistan, has affected the lives and livelihoods of many people. According to recent statements, at least 23 people have lost their lives, approximately 80 people have been injured, and more than 100 people are still missing. Homes and workplaces have been destroyed by the floodwaters, while roads, bridges, agricultural lands, and public infrastructure have also suffered severe damage. Search and rescue operations are ongoing in the region.
Urgent Needs Increasing in Nuristan
Families affected by the flood disaster are facing great difficulties in accessing safe shelter, food, clean water, and basic living supplies, in addition to losing their homes and primary livelihoods. The infrastructure damage in the region also makes it difficult to reach disaster victims and carry out aid efforts. Nuristan's mountainous and hard-to-reach structure further increases the need for urgent humanitarian aid.
As Hayrat Aid, we are launching an aid campaign to stand by the families affected by the flood disaster in Afghanistan and to provide support for their urgent needs. In line with the needs assessments from the region, we aim to deliver food, clean water, shelter materials, and basic needs support to the disaster victims.
