As Hayrat Aid, through sewing machine donations, we support women in need to turn their vocational skills into production and generate their own income. Depending on the project's structure, we combine sewing training with equipment support, helping those who know how to sew or wish to pursue a career in this field to participate in production.
The cost of one sewing machine is 300 dollars. You can contribute any amount you wish to the campaign, or you can donate 300 dollars to cover the full cost of one sewing machine.
Vocational and Production Support with the Sewing Machine Project
A sewing machine is a work tool that can help a person with vocational skills, but who lacks the necessary equipment for production, to earn a regular income. Therefore, we run our project not just as a product delivery, but as part of a sustainable livelihood model.
Within the scope of the project:
• Individuals in need are identified.
• Sewing training and vocational skill support are provided according to the project's structure.
• Sewing machines are procured to enable them to start production.
• Support is given to help turn the acquired skills into production and a source of income.
Our sewing machine projects have been implemented in various regions in previous years. In 2021, we reached 600 people in Yemen with the support of 120 sewing machines; we also conducted training on machine use, maintenance, and job finding. In 2024, we supported 175 people with 35 sewing machines. In 2025, with our Sewing Workshop project in Burkina Faso, we supported women in gaining vocational skills and contributing to their household economies by producing for the local market.
