Current Situation: Israeli Attacks on Lebanon

Having been relentlessly attacking the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, Israel has now turned its indiscriminate attacks against Lebanon. The ongoing airstrikes have claimed the lives of more than 500 civilians, including 50 children. At Hayrat Aid, we could not remain silent in the face of this heartbreaking human tragedy and we have launched an emergency appeal to provide much-needed relief to the displaced civilians.

What Happened in the Past?

The Beirut Explosion and Lebanon's Economic Difficulties

On August 4, 2020, a massive explosion occurred at the Port of Beirut, deeply shocking the Lebanese people. In the aftermath of the explosion, which killed 220 people and injured 6,500 others, and dealt yet another blow to Lebanon's already difficult economic downturn, Hayrat Aid stood with the people of Lebanon.
