وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ يُقْتَلُ فٖي سَبٖيلِ اللّٰهِ اَمْوَاتٌؕ بَلْ اَحْيَٓاءٌ وَلٰكِنْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ

"Never say that those martyred in the cause of Allah are dead—in fact, they are alive! But you do not perceive it." (Qur’an 2:154)

In partnership with the Turkish Ministry of Interior, our 'In the Footsteps of Martyrs: 1,000 Water Wells' project will install water wells globally in the names of 1,000 martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their homeland, honoring their lagacy beyond borders and driving sustainable solutions to Africa's ever-worsening water crisis.

وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَٓاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّۜ

"And We created from water every living thing." (Qur’an 21:30)

Of the countries where the project will be carried out, Chad, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Niger, and Togo are among those facing a severe drinking water crisis. By installing these wells, underserved communities will gain access to clean water, thereby helping to prevent waterborne disease-related deaths. Furthermore, naming the wells after the martyrs will provide spiritual support to their families. Through this project, Hayrat Aid will collaborate with the Turkish Ministry of Interior to install 1,000 wells in honor of the martyrs, which will not only meet the urgent need for clean and healthy water in underserved communities, but will also honor their legacy.

Upon completion of the project, we will visit the families of 1,000 martyrs, representing the generosity of our nation.

Each well's plaque displays the donor’s name (as requested). After donation, plaque drafts are shared for approval. Approved plaques are installed, and donors receive photos/videos of the completed well.
