Bangladesh Emergency Aid

Emergency
Current Situation and Impacts in the Rohingya Camp
Severe monsoon rains in Bangladesh have caused a major flood disaster in the camps where our Rohingya refugee brothers and sisters live in difficult conditions. A total of 1.95 million people in 12 regions across the country are at great risk, and the number of people directly affected by the disaster has reached 536,017. Among the places most severely hit by this catastrophe are the 33 Rohingya refugee camps sheltering the oppressed who have sought refuge in Bangladesh. In these camps alone, 24,614 Rohingya refugees are struggling for survival amidst floodwaters, while 2,553 shelters where refugees sought refuge have been damaged. Due to the disaster, 4,126 people have been displaced again, and unfortunately, 18 of our brothers and sisters have lost their lives.
What Are We Doing as Hayrat Aid?
Our teams are working within the framework of this emergency in the Rohingya camps in Bangladesh to heal the wounds of our brothers and sisters and to help vulnerable families survive. We are delivering emergency food aid to Rohingya families affected by the floods and providing safe shelter support. We are providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene services to prevent epidemic diseases that dirty water may cause in the camps, while also offering emergency health services for the injured and sick affected by the flood, and conducting psychosocial support activities to alleviate the devastating impact of the disaster.
